Lindsey Rozzi (Director) began her training at BSDPA and the Orcutt/Botsford Fine Arts Center and has studied at several summer intensive programs including the Chautauqua Institute, Burklyn Ballet Theatre and Lake Erie Ballet. She holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from SUNY Brockport with an emphasis in choreography and performance. Through her work at SUNY Brockport she has performed and studied with Timothy Draper, the Limon Dance Company, Randy James, and Susannah Newman. She has also held a teacher/choreographer position at the School of Arts in Rochester.
Leah Brady (BSDPA alum)received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance from Kent State University. While at Kent, Leah performed in works by Cliff Keuter, Kimberly Karpanty, Kora Radella, Gina Kohler and other various choreographers. Leah was also honored to have a featured role in American modern dance pioneer, May O’Donnell’s historical work, Suspension (1943), reconstructed and staged by Barbara Allegra Verlezza and Sabatino Verlezza. Upon graduation, Leah then furthered her professional career with Project606 Dance in Chicago, Illinois.
Shannon Circe graduated from SUNY Geneseo, with a degree in Spanish and Adolescent Education, she was a member of the Orchesis Dance Company, and a director, choreographer, and performer in the Musical Theater Club. She also spent time at the University at Buffalo where she minored in dance. Shannon was a member of the first Tap Kids Summer Intensive, and has traveled as far as Hawaii to perform in the Pro Bowl . She has choreographed pieces for the Miss New York State Pageant, as well as a number of high school and community theater musical productions.
Julie Izzo (Drama) holds a degree in Theatre and Speech from the College of William and Mary. She also completed a year long theatre internship at the Virginia Stage Company. Julie has performed locally and professionally and has directed and choreographed numerous musicals and plays. Julie currently teaches private voice lessons at her home and Music Theatre classes at the Eastman Community Music School. She is continuing her own music studies at Eastman.
Elliott Keller is a BSDPA alum pursuing his BFA degree in dance and education at SUNY Buffalo as an Honors Student and is a member of the Zodiac Dance Company. He has participated in numerous summer programs and workshops including the Joffery Jazz and Contemporary program, Paul Taylor and Limon intensives, HT Chen and Dancers, Momix, and Urban Bush Women. In addition, Elliott has been the recipient of numerous accolades and scholarships.
Gabriela Messina is pursuing her Bachelor of Arts degree at SUNY Brockport where she is a member of the Dance Team. She grew up in Brooklyn where she was Dance Captain at Brooklyn Studio High School. Her training includes a number of styles as The Brooklyn Dance Center and Steps on Broadway.
Alaina Puchalski (BSDPA alum) earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance from Point Park University. She has performed at Geva Theatre (Rochester, NY), Byham Theatre (Pittsbugh), the Pittsburgh Playhouse, and at the College of New Rochelle. Alaina has danced on for Holland America Cruise Line for the past five years.
Julie Schlafer graduated from SUNY Brockport with a BFA in dance in 2005. She has performed at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, FL, and locally with BIODANCE and the Rochester Raiderrettes. She has been performing in Rochester for the past four years and has participated in several festivals including The Nazareth College Dance Festival, Musselman Arts Triathlon, Rochester Contemporary Dance Collective, Vision of Sound, ImageMovementSound, and Artwalk. Julie is a graduate student at the University of Rochester earning her MS in School Counseling. She has been teaching modern at BSDPA since fall 2009.
Stephanie Tozer is a former student of BSDPA and is pursuing her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in dance at SUNY Brockport. Stephanie has participated in many performances including our annual Benefit Concert. She has attended the NYCDA Convention and has taught and assisted all ages and dance disciplines.
